Uncle Matty's Visit.

This year Uncle Matty came to visit us at the beginning of his Christmas break.  We were so glad that we were able to find a time for him to stay with us.  U M only gets about 4-5 weeks vacation all year so he tries to divide up his time between all the HEBI family.  We all live in the same state but as we have found it's a BIG state!  This trip worked out because Matthew would fly to us, help Maher and I drive to Gia, Poppy and the Blaxton's abode, after spending Christmas there, he would then be driven to see the Ellis'.    It took us a little over 8 hrs to go for our Christmas visit and it took him a little over 6 to see the Ellis bunch.  So as you can see a 3 week vacation isn't always as calming when having to drive all around this great big state when you have at least 3 cities to visit!

U M flew out right after his last final and was only an hour delayed.  Ash and I decided that even though U M hadn't seen Maher since August we should still put Maher to bed and not keep him up.  Maher must have known U M was in town because at 11:00 PM when Ash got him in the car Maher woke up and wouldn't go back down.  We decided to let him say hi to U M before cuddling him back down for bed.  Maher just stared at U M.  I will admit in the back of my head I thought, "Well this is great!  We have finally have U M at the house and Maher won't have anything to do with him!"  Once morning rolled around it was a completely different story.  Maher ran out and looked all around the living room for his late night visitor.  He heard a noise from the guest bath and ran to knock on the door squealing with delight.  When U M finished Maher quickly began to show U M how to play with each and every toy he had.  He rode his scoot-n-zoom, he pulled the wagons, he wrestled Foo-foo bear, he showed of Bananas, and then showed U M the best thing: the pantry.  After breakfast Maher went to show U M his little riding trike.

After some playtime we headed over to the Salt Lick, by far some of the BEST Bar-b-cue ever!  (After we arrived I realized I left my camera at home, hence why so far there are no photos to go with the stories.)  We all enjoyed our lunch, then we headed to run some other errands: picking up a tin of popcorn, trying some tapioca tea, picking some items up for Gia, and finding a little park to play at.   We spent the rest of the evening home and after dinner Maher showed off his bath skills, and I remembered the camera.

Sunday was a pretty lazy day, we went to mass and then hung out at the house so I could finish packing.  Overall we had a great visit with U M and we can't wait to see him again.
